Nothing is eternal. Not mountains. Not journeys. Not even Hilleberg tents. And yet, some things come remarkably close. For more than seventeen years, my Hilleberg Nammatj 3 has been my shelter, my refuge, my home in places where failure is not an option. Time — UV, wind, snow, dust, altitude — has finally done what storms never could. The fabric has thinned, softened, and now tears gently to threads. This is not a sudden loss, but a long, honorable fade. Before that moment arrived, she lived fully. She kept me dry under relentless rain and...

Hello! Here is a heartfelt thank you from me and my dog Freja, who used your Nallo 3 GT during our Vita Bandet (White Ribbon) trip in 2025. I am incredibly happy with the tent and found it to be spacious, stable, and safe in every way. Perfect for one person and a dog. In 2022, I did the same through-hike in the summertime and dreamt about doing it in the winter and seeing the same places covered with snow. I also dreamt about doing a longer winter trip with my dog since she loves colder temperatures and snow. I also find longer hikes (no...

Hi Petra, I just wanted to say a big thank you for the quality of your tents and the ripstop nylon. I have a 20-year-old Hilleberg Akto which I have used all over the world for 70 plus nights on wild camping adventures — at least ten years of different National park visits to America. The Akto is still as good as the day I bought it and I look after it well. I love the tent. Last week on a trip to the Cascade mountains in Washington I had a visit by a black bear in the middle of the night that tried to force its way into my tent. Terrifyi...

Tony and I fell in love with cycle touring ten years ago. Our first tent was a Nallo 3 GT, which we used for our first 3-week-long tours in Europe during our holidays. When Tony took early retirement, I stopped work too and we started touring every summer. Our second long trip was a very wet and windy tour around Scotland. After the fourth storm we decided to upgrade to a Black Label tent for extra stability in high winds. We bought a Tarra, which became our preferred home away from home. Subsequent tours took us to the North Cape in Norwa...

Hi Petra, We have just finished our eighth kayak navigation in Greenland. That's another 1000 km and almost 8000 km in total since 2009. We were surprised this year to encounter winter conditions there in June. We initially delayed our departure by three weeks and once on the water, patches of ice forced us to change course or even turn around. We often had to wait while the wind and tide cleared the way for us. This year, we used the new Saivo 3. We have been unconditional fans of the model since 2007. Its wind resistance, two entrances,...

I purchased an Allak 2 tent last year for bomber protection in horrendous conditions and this tent did not disappoint. I have owned several other tent brands, but nothing even comes close. The ability to pitch this tent when it is pouring rain and not get the inside wet is amazing. I also love the solid walls on the inside which keeps out blowing dirt and dust. I had used it a few times but not under conditions that I had recently on a 3 week trip on the Gulkana and Copper Rivers in Alaska. We had great weather for 3-4 days, but then it tu...

Hello, I have to give you all a compliment on your tent construction. I have mountain hunted in Alaska with a lightweight tent, but recently went on a mountain goat hunt with winds clocked at 90 mph. We were using my friend's Red Label Allak, and the tent saved us from a rescue situation. Per the pilot, two other groups had to be rescued by the National Guard, because their tents were shredded by the winds. I intend to purchase a Nallo tent and make it my sole hunting shelter. Thank you for making great gear! Matt

I wanted to share a love story with you. 18 years ago I met the man of my dreams. He had a motorcycle and a tent. We had wonderful adventures traveling around together, seeing amazing sites, and falling in love. Our tent protected us in all kinds of weather. Always strong and secure. Eventually I got to have this man as my husband. Two years ago he passed away and my world was shattered. I did not travel the first summer he was gone. No adventures. No amazing things to see. The next summer I knew I had to go. So I got out our beautiful ten...

My dad, brother and I just spent seven nights on a fly-in DIY Backpack brown bear hunt on Kodiak Island in my new Kaitum 4. Our home away from home was perfect for the three of us and all the gear we had to keep out of the rain. We received rain almost every afternoon and evening. We were blessed with not having the crazy heavy rain or winds that the island is known for but we certainly were not able to escape wet ground and steady precipitation. The tent performed flawlessly and condensation was not an issue with the protected vents being...

I have had my Nammatj 3 GT for 30 years and have used it in Europe and in Australia. My verdict is that this tent is second to none in design, material selection and workmanship. I love every night that I get to spend in it. It is very clear that the designers are experienced campers who know exactly what makes a good tent design. The materials and workmanship have also stood the test of time.
Recently, when I sent the tent to Hilleberg for repairs, this was handled very professionally and to my utmost satisfaction.

Dear Hilleberg Team and dear outdoor fans,
Last summer we started our vacation in Norway and hiked up to the "Hardangervidda." In the weeks before it had rained and therefore the ground was very boggy, but we were still able to sleep in the dry every night with our Hilleberg tent (a Nallo from the 1980s that we were allowed to borrow from a friend). Sometimes we even had to pitch the tent in the rain, but as it is so easy to pitch, this worked out well. The nights in the Hardangervidda were special because there seemed to be no other...

Hi Hilleberg,
I hope you and the team are doing well up north!
After 8 months of sleeping in our Nammatj we stopped camping last December and made our way south.
We just wanted to let you know that we're almost done with our trip and to be honest, it was so good to always have that super reliable tent with us!
Please let the whole team know that even small customers like us and our friends really appreciate the work you guys are doing!!
Best wishes,

I published hours of videos about it on my channel on YouTube. Of course I show and speak quite a lot about your tents in them, since I am really very happy with them! In my opinion the Unna is the very best tent in the world for long distance solo paddlers, I really love it.

This Keron is an incredible tent that I have tested hard. It has stood up well given the severe weather of high-altitude elk hunting and camping in Salt River Range, Wyoming Range, Wind River Range, Bighorn Mountain, Laramie Range, Bear Lodge, and Sierra Madre. I have used it from 8000 to 11000 feet through all four seasons. It has stood the test of wind, snow, and cold impressively and there is no level of expression that can reflect my appreciation for what you build.
Thank you,
BDJ

Hello Hilleberg!
We had a lovely trip last weekend with our first test of the Anaris. Almost no wind, 6 degrees Celsius in the morning and a full moon at night and a beautiful sunrise. The tent is fantastic, super lightweight, well thought out, practical (like always with Hilleberg). It is very easy and quick to set up, surprisingly roomy for sleeping and sitting in, space also for your gear, a real "Kinder Egg." We were really satisfied and it was "love at first sight." I will recommend the tent for 3-season use in Norway, especially...

Dear Hilleberg,
A few days ago, I fulfilled a dream of crossing Iceland alone from Myvatn to Thingvellir via the Langjokull glacier. This 500km crossing with skis and pulka was the most difficult experience, but also the most beautiful of my life. What a great adventure it has been with exceptional people, gear and some very special views of the mountains as shown in this photo of a special sunrise before the start of our day.

Hello,
We finally got outside to use our Kaitum 4 GT tent . It is a wonderful product. I carried it on an 11-mile hike into the backcountry including 3000 feet of elevation gain here in Alaska last weekend. My back appreciated the missing weight!

It was very fast and easy to set up. Our family of four + dog slept very comfortably although it was raining and somewhat windy at 35 degrees Fahrenheit.

Our Alaskan friends were all curious and appreciated the quality details of this unique tent.
Kind regards,

Hi!
We started our White Ribbon with an old dome tent that we had borrowed. The tent wasn't so roomy and the inner tent had to be put up before the outer tent which made it inconvenient when we had to set it up and take it down every day. Therefore, we were thinking of getting a new tent. But it wasn't until we tried to pitch the tent in a storm and woke up to the tent bowing inwards and three out of five tent poles were broken did we decide it was time for new tent...
The next day we contacted Hilleberg about getting a new tent...

We've used the Anjan 3 through the John Muir Trail in California. At 4 lbs. between the two people, it averaged a modest 2 lbs. per person, which was plenty light for such a sturdy tent.
The bright red color really stands out and makes it very easy to find the tent when you're tired and it's getting a little dark (This is our favorite feature). The vestibule is plenty big enough to cook, organize gear and provide shade for those times we needed shade from the sun. The Anjan 3 strikes a balance between blocking the wind and proper vent...

Dear Hilleberg Family,
17 years ago (age 21) I discovered the Hilleberg tents and immediately fell in love with the quality and passion with which you make your tents. We had the opportunity to buy a Nallo 3 GT in may 2005 and have made countless beautiful memories with it. The tent never failed us. Hello Hilleberg, When Roberto and I walked across Lake Baikal, we bet on a Keron 4 GT - and it was the right decision! The winter in Siberia can throw a lot at you, especially if you are in the middle of an ice surface without protection. It's good to have a bomb-proof, portable home that also offers luxurious space and clever details. The materials and functions of the Keron are excellent and since we pulled the tent in a pulka, the weight was no problem either. Hello, I was in Kenya on a safari in the Maasai Mara National Park together with my daughter and some friends. There, we slept in our beautiful red Nallo tent that withstood an ant invasion, a harsh thunderstorm, and a visit from an elephant. Dear Petra Hilleberg, Just a note to thank you for the Nammatj tent! I don’t know why it took so long, and so many other Hilleberg tents, but I am so happy with my new Nammatj. It might be the best tent in the world, but it is certainly the best tent I have ever used. I used it in the Anza-Borrego desert purposefully during the rare, I’d like to think unprecedented, rains of last week – and while the water ran over, around, and under the Nammatj, I was dry as could be, smiling and almost laughing out loud. Hi Hilleberg Team, My Soulo has been the tent that I reach for every time I head out on an adventure in the mountains of Alaska. The security it gives in harsh weather allows me to sleep well, either in the middle of winter on a glacier or at 7000 ft in the autumn while mountain hunting. While not the lightest one-person shelter, that number does not tell the whole story. Due to the warmth of the solid inner tent and the security of knowing that It will not collapse during storms, allows me to use an ultra light down quilt and neo air s...

Hi Hilleberg, My Nallo 2 has over 25,000.00 miles on it! This is my “go to” tent for adventure motorcycle travel. This tent has endured summer snows in high elevations of Colorado as well as 1.5” hail in North Dakota. Our recent trip to Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula pushed this tent to the max as we were caught in gale force Lake Superior winds on the tip of the peninsula. 4 straight hours of 50 mph winds convinced me that this 12 year old tent does NOT need replacement! 2 other “name brand” tents were tore from the ground! Hilleberg tent continues to deliver. I used my Akto and two visiting friends used my Nallo 3. We got a lot of rain, temps in the 30-50 range, 5 day trip. Noteworthy regarding the Nallo 3 is two guys, 6’1” and 6’3” (both hunters but this was a backpacking trip in the 9.5k elev range) reported the Nallo 3 has plenty of room for them and they felt “safe” in the rainstorms and rugged terrain with the tent I provided. The tent functioned beautifully in well-below 0 F (-18 C) temps, winds, rain. I thoroughly appreciated having it as my home and the care and quality put into its design. Thanks a bunch! Hope you are having a beautiful day! -Katie...

Hi Hilleberg, I recently purchased the Staika. It is an awesome tent. I am very impressed with it. We have taken two trips with the tent so far. Recently we spent 4 nights at Conundrum Hot Springs outside of Aspen, Colorado, USA to see the leaves change. We were camping at 11,200 feet in the same location by the springs for all 4 nights. We experienced some weather every night and the tent did really well. The first night we hiked in the weather was sleeting and foul and when we pitched the tent it we were soaked. We really loved being a...

Hi Hilleberg team, I finally got a chance to use my Nallo 3. I get up into the eastern Sierra Nevada 2-3 times a year and it can be very windy. Every year trucks get completely blown onto their sides on highway 395. Naturally the tent was amazing. It was at 10.5k feet for three days and nights at Gardisky Lake in Inyo National Forest, Mono County, CA, USA. Thanks, Tyson Kamp

Hello Hilleberg, My wife and I picked up one of your Allak tents last year to serve as our go-to international bicycle touring and winter adventuring tent and couldn't be much happier! The tent is totally bomb-proof and we've enjoyed it around our home in Montana as well as on a month long bicycle tour in Ecuador last fall. I thought I'd send you an image of it from one of our favorite campsites of our Ecuador trip, at the foot of Cotopaxi! Enjoy and thank you for the lovely tent! Zach

Hi, After a long search for the best tent for my needs my choice was the Hilleberg Unna. I haven't regretted that for one second. I bought the tent twenty years ago and I just calculated that I have slept in it more than 500 nights during those years and in all kind of situations, sunshine, pouring rain and snow; from summer lawn to 3 weeks north Lapland fell hiking in January. I really love my Unna. It is still almost like new. My inner tent is sawn by Sonja Vestlinder so if she is still there, give her big thanks :) The outer tent had...

Hi Hilleberg, I just got back from a 12 day camping trip at Philmount Scout Camp in the Southern Rockies in New Mexico. It was monsoon season with wind and rain most of the time and it wasn't until the very last  night that I got up to a dry tent due to no rain overnight and breezy conditions. (Finally! A little late, but at least I didn't have to fly home with a wet tent.) For the record; The Anjan outperformed the other tents that I saw at Philmont by a LONG way. The rest of my crew used Philmont's tents, but there is no way I'll use a...

Hi Hilleberg, My first Hilleberg experience was a late fall backpack hunt in thigh deep snow and harsh wind. My partner and I leaned hard on our sleeping bag ratings but sheltered well in a Nallo 2 GT. After that trip I was sold. What I thought were good quality backpacking tents paled in comparison to the strength: weight ratio of the Nallo. I saved up to buy an Allak shortly thereafter, which I've now had for about 8 years. I've used it hard in all seasons and it's still in great condition. I've tried an handful of others during that...

Hello Hilleberg Team! I just wanted to check in and say thank you for your fabulous products!! I recently purchased the Niak from you, with all the fixins. Such a beautiful tent and design; excellent job my friends!! Sadly, I must admit that I had to sell my Soulo in order to obtain this new Niak, holy Sh*% will I miss that tent! I am not a mountaineer, but I can only imagine how magnificent in design and execution your expedition tents are?!! I just had to check in and say thank you for providing me with the best tent/shelter out of all m...

Thank you for making your Windsack! I bought one this past winter after having been jealous of my friend who already had one. It goes with me on all trips, is easy to use and has SO MANY USES! It is a piece of gear that allows me to enjoy the mountains in a whole new dimension. Imagine that a piece of safety equipment can give so much happiness, even when there is no crisis, such as when there is just a little bit of a cold wind and you want some respite from it. Or, like today, when I was birdwatching in a tree stand for three hours and w...

Hello Hilleberg Team, During our week-long ski tour in Hardangervidda in Norway, the Allak and Nallo GT were again our safe, comfortable homes in all kinds of weather. Especially on winter tours above tree-line we are completely dependent on our gear. Because of that you lay there at night in the tent and think, “What is going to happen – but then…it is a Hilleberg…” and you fall right back asleep. Then in the morning you wake up well rested and super fit. With our Hilleberg tents, we have crossed the Hardangervidda multiple times in the s...

Hello! I visited the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula here in Washington, USA a few weeks ago and wanted to share a photo of your tent in the Jurassic Park-like atmosphere. It rained all night but the sun came out in the morning to light up the moss covered trees. It's amazing that we have such a beautiful area right here in the Northwest! Thanks, Bill

Hi team Hilleberg, I just wanted to share a bit of a story with you. When I was a teenager (13-15), I spent most of my summer school holidays in Sweden, Norway and the Swiss/French/Italian Alps. My brother who is 9 years older than me took me with him and we spent up to the full 6 weeks hiking, just with backpack by foot. At the time, I bought a Hilleberg tent – I believe it was the Nallo 2 (the label has faded, cannot read it any more) – because it was light and I was told it was great quality. It was not cheap but I decided to go for it....

Hello! I wanted to share a few photos from a two-night stay at Paradise on Mt. Rainier last weekend. I continue to be impressed by the ease of pitching the Soulo every time I use it. The trip was great with a little bit of everything thrown in beginning with being totally socked in on Saturday to looking like a Game of Thrones set from north of the Wall Sunday morning and then waking up Monday to a clear blue sky. I didn't see it but there were fox tracks leading up to and away from my tent in the fresh snow Monday morning. Thanks! Bill H...

Hi Hilleberg, I wanted to share a photo from our latest adventure.  My wife took this evening picture with our trusty Allak. We were doing some early season backpacking in Assateague National Seashore, Maryland, USA. We loved the Allak on this trip. The weather was pretty variable, and the winds kicked up on the beach overnight.  The Allak stood strong while others were noisily flapping away. It's amazing the peace-of-mind that this solid tent gave us. It let us focus on getting these amazing shots! Thanks Hilleberg, -Zak

Dear Hilleberg Team, We thought you might like this picture we took a couple of weeks ago. We had been travelling across South America with our bicycles since last October. On one of our crossings from Argentina to Chile, we met Seb, another bicycle traveller. We first discovered that we had the same brand of stove. Later we noticed that we had the same tent - same brand, same model, except that he had the 2 person version whereas we have the 3 person one. So we got the chance of taking a picture of these two "siblings" in front of volcano...

Hello, Many thanks for the new catalog, which is the all-time best! I love the photographs — and the descriptions — they make me (even in this rain and wind) want to go to the desert and pitch my latest favorite, the Unna. People don't know ANYTHING about tents until they try to get one up in a full-on storm; that's when the vote goes your way! Thanks again, Tom

Hello, I just set up my Unna. Fantastic! Thank you. I look forward to using it on my 7 day Iceland backpacking trip this summer. The last time I used the Unna in winter was in New York last year. I have a Staika as well for the trips where I want to share sleeping space. The last few times I used Staika was on Wheeler Peak (highest mountain in New Mexico) in May 2016. I spread my Dad’s ashes on the summit during that trip. Then in June 2016 I used it for 8 days on the Emmons Glacier of Mt. Rainier. It snowed everyday! I attached a few phot...

Good Evening, Just thought I would share another picture from our recent trip to Kodiak Island. On this hunt we were camped at 1,700 ft which is well above any tree line on Kodiak. We were hit with an early snow storm, which only lasted a couple of days. We rode it out warm and dry in our Nammatj 3 GT. Loved the vestibule and the full cove footprint too! This is our 1st Hilleberg tent but we’ve bought several more since then. Thank You once again for making a great tent. Louis and Mrs. Ruth Cusack

Hi Hilleberg, My Unna is one of the best pieces of equipment I've ever used. I camped in a large campground that was very full during a two-month long car trip. Late one of the nights a very powerful storm that sounded like a train pounded my Unna with the toughest weather I've ever seen a tent take. Not knowing how truly bad it was at the time, I slept through the storm only to wake up to devastation on a grand scale. When I peeked out of the Unna that morning I could see hundreds of people huddled together in and under any structure stro...

Hello, I purchased the Saivo a few weeks back and had an opportunity to go up in the mountains in northern Arizona. Set up was extremely fast and easy. I was not expecting it but that evening there was a major storm and downpour with 35 to 40 mile an hour winds. I had the Saivo all pegged down and guided out. The water stayed out and it was completely dry inside.  I was really surprised that there was absolutely zero condensation on the inside. The Saivo stayed in place and it handled the wind with no problem About as perfect as you can ge...

Hello, Just started my backpacking trip through South America. Here with my Unna in the Cordon del Plata range in the Argentinian Andes. I wanted a solid 4 season tent that was lightweight, fast pitching, didn't feel like a coffin, and most of all could handle the mercurial climate changes - desert, dust, sun, wind, freezing rain, snow. I compared lots of different models from other manufacturers but the real tipping factor in going with Hilleberg was the simultaneous pitching of the inner and outer. No tent is as easy to set up! Which is...

Hi Hilleberg team, I recently had a bike trip around Russia, Mongolia and central Asia. I used the Unna model to go there. I ended up very happy with the tent. Nukeproof solid, light and big enough to keep all gear inside. Please continue the efforts on the quality tents and production in Europe. Thanks Thomas

Hello Hilleberg Crew, We have covered over 10,000 miles since 15 July 2016 when we rode out of Alaska on our around the world humanitarian motorcycle expedition. Since leaving Alaska we have used a Hilleberg Keron 3 GT Black Label tent. Lana and I have spent a great deal of time living in tents, up to three (3) years at one time, and in some very remote areas, especially in the Alaska bush.  We can say without any reservation that the Keron 3 GT Black Label is the finest tent we have every used in its size range.  It is truly a work of art...

Hi Tentmakers, Last night under the full moon, I enjoyed staying in one of your Allaks. Your Allak is just fantastic! Here it is located near a small lake at 1100 meter in the Ybbstaler Alpen, Lower Austria. The mountain that you see in the background is Dürrnstein some 1900 meters high. Best wishes from Austria Helge

Hello, Hunting in the Chugach Range of south central Alaska is always an adventure, especially in the fall. The sunny day we left on turned into three solid days of rain and fog. Our last day was a steady down pour for 8+ hours. Our Nammatj 3 GT performed flawlessly, we were dry and warm in what could have been a miserable night. The vestibule seals the deal. Kept all our gear dry without taking up sleeping space. The young lady in the picture is my daughter Tori. Marty Parsons

Hello, Many thanks again for the excellent support from your company. The Rogen tent is really perfect (very light, room for the equipment and good ventilation), even if we did not use it extensively in the wild (we spent some days at Pyramiderna and near Stora Sjøfallet) but surely it will be used extensively during coming trips in Sweden. I have attached some images of the tent "in action". Some near Pyramiderna, Sweden and one in Denmark close to Faaborg (matching the colors of the sun). Dear Hilleberg, I just wanted to thank you for producing a tent like the Hilleberg ENAN! I used this tent for my thru hike of the Appalachian trail in the US. And the whole 4.5 months, I didn't had any problems with the tent! It was my best piece of gear! Keep on doing your great job! Sincerely yours Robert Stapper

Hello My family just spent 4 nights in the Victorian Alps, Australia. Our Saitaris stood up to gale force winds and a large dumping of snow, while other tents including another Swedish brand failed from the complete to minor repairs. It is a great comfort to know that mother nature can be quite uncomfortable outside but be secure inside your tent. On behalf of my family please thank Bo Hilleberg for me, for being the visionary that he was all those years ago. If I could, I would shake his hand. He is the Tentmaker. Attached are 3 photos a...

Hello, I wanted to share our first experience of using your Hilleberg Tarra Tent. This photo was taken on 09.07.16 at Thredbo which is located at Snowy Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. We camped on an unnamed 2160m peak which directly overlooks Lake Cootapatamba ~100m below and across to Mt Kosciuszko ~60m above. There was 80km/h winds at night but the tent did not even budge. In the past we have camped with friends near Seaman's Hut which is in the valley so much lower in altitude and high winds literally flattened everyone's tents....

Here are some photos of your awesome tent, they are of my wife Lisa Griffith at 4,500 Metres on the Peruvian Altiplano with our Nallo 2 GT. The Nallo 2 GT was the perfect tent for our motorcycle trip through South America, lightweight and compact when packed up, it transformed into a cozy home with a huge vestibule to store our gear. Keeping us warm and dry in sub zero temperatures above 4,500 metres on the Altiplano in Peru and Bolivia and keeping out driving rain and strong winds in Tierra Del Fuego and Patagonia, I would choose the Hill...

Hello I just bought and set up my third Hilleberg tent, an Akto. I bought the first one in 1983 from money I made on my first job, it’s a Keron and it’s still going even if it is a bit worn. I also have a Nallo that I bought some years ago. Thank you for not compromising on the quality! Mountain greetings Svante Djärv

Hello, Here are some photos of a recent ski camp I did on Mount Rainier with my new (used) Keron 4. It performed beautifully through 3 nights of very wintery conditions where we received 8-10 inches of snow each night. The tent is a really good size for 3 adults on a winter camp. It can clearly fit 4 but with 3 it provides that extra bit of room which is so appreciated when cooped up in a storm. Thank you for your personal attention and wonderful customer service. Gordon
